Key Responsibilities of a Clinical Partner (Medical Assistant)
As a Clinical Partner (Medical Assistant), you’ll play a crucial role in supporting primary care teams and ensuring smooth, efficient care delivery to patients in their homes.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and care management teams to provide high-quality patient care.
- Coordinate travel schedules and assist clinicians during patient visits.
- Prepare patients for examinations and minor procedures.
- Secure patient consent forms and document care accurately and promptly.
- Perform venipuncture, EKGs, and other clinical procedures as directed by clinicians.
- Handle specimen labeling, storage, and delivery for lab testing.
- Update patient care plans, document social determinants of health, and help close quality care gaps.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and CLIA standards.
- Maintain medical supplies, vehicles, and equipment.
- Attend training sessions and team meetings to stay aligned with best practices.
Qualifications for Clinical Partner (Medical Assistant)
To succeed as a Clinical Partner (Medical Assistant), you’ll need a mix of clinical knowledge, communication skills, and compassion.
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, EMT, Phlebotomy, or related training program — or 1 year of equivalent experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer literacy (EMR, GPS, iPad).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Preferred:
- Certified Medical Assistant credential.
- Six months of patient care experience, preferably in geriatrics.
- Strong phlebotomy skills.
- Desire to obtain MA certification within 180 days of hire.
