Introduction
The Medical Biller plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate submission of medical claims to both government and private payers. As a Medical Biller, you will verify claim details, enter accurate billing information, and process both electronic and paper submissions to ensure smooth reimbursement operations. This position focuses on maintaining accuracy in CPT codes, modifiers, patient types, and compliance documentation to support efficient billing and revenue cycle management.
Key Responsibilities of a Medical Biller
The Medical Biller is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and submitting claims through multiple channels, including electronic data interchange (EDI), payer portals, and mail. You will ensure that all essential information—such as insurance plan details, CPT and ICD-10 codes, and procedure modifiers—is entered correctly for each claim.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Submit medical claims to payers electronically or via paper.
- Verify all claim information including service date, CPT codes, modifiers, and compliance paperwork.
- Transmit and reconcile patient statements and ensure successful clearinghouse acceptance.
- Research, correct, and resubmit rejected claims promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with audits or secondary claim submissions.
- Print explanation of benefits (EOBs) and manage billing documentation as required.
The Medical Biller will also collaborate with team members and providers to resolve billing issues and ensure timely reimbursements.
Qualifications for a Medical Biller

Required Qualifications:

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The Medical Biller role is primarily performed in a standard office setting. The position involves extended periods of sitting, standing, and using computer systems to process billing data. Occasional lifting, bending, or reaching may be required.
