Position Summary
The Payment Poster is responsible for accurately posting patient and insurance payments within TTUHSC’s medical practice management system. This includes applying payments to accounts, processing unassigned payments, and making necessary corrections. The role requires both manual and electronic posting, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance in patient account management.
Major/Essential Functions

Post patient and insurance payments to patient accounts.

Apply unassigned payments to patient vouchers once created.

Correct patient accounts as needed.

Perform manual and electronic postings within the medical practice management system.
Occasional Duties
-
Complete additional assignments as directed by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent.

Two years of medical or general office experience, OR completion of related education/training plus one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Prior Medical Billing Office experience.

Experience posting patient payments.

Familiarity with analyzing medical EOBs.

Understanding of contractual adjustments, co-pays, deductibles, and insurance allowables.

Experience using a Medical Practice Management System.
