About the Role
We are seeking a Billing & Invoicing Specialist to join our growing team. This role focuses on accurate claim submission, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting patients and providers with timely, professional service. This is a remote position with occasional light office-related activity required.
Key Responsibilities

Review and submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and private insurance payers.

Verify accuracy and completeness of billing information prior to submission.

Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolve issues, and resubmit when needed.

Interpret insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and maintain specialized payer knowledge.

Investigate and resolve insurance claim denials, exceptions, or exclusions.

Provide customer service support for billing inquiries, complaints, and insurance processes.

Ensure HIPAA compliance when handling sensitive patient data.

Support Billing Supervisor, Manager, or Director with additional billing tasks.
Qualifications

High school diploma required; college degree preferred.

6 months–1 year of medical billing, invoicing, or related experience.

Proficiency with practice management software, spreadsheets, and word processing tools.

Strong math, detail orientation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage time independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must remain in the role for at least 9 months before applying internally (exceptions require leadership approval).
