Skills Needed for a Medical Billing Specialist

2–3 years of medical billing and AR follow-up experience

Knowledge of billing software (eClinical, Athena, Open PM, MicroMD, etc.)

Skilled in MS Word, Excel, and insurance carrier portals

CPB, CPC, or equivalent credential preferred

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
