About the Job

Starting Salary Range (Full-Time): $25.48–$28.61/hour
Office Benefit Package (On-Call Stipend): $130/month (subject to change)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Model: Hybrid (1–2 days/week in-office, remaining days remote)

Position Summary:
RADIAS Health is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to support the reimbursement cycle and ensure accurate billing and invoicing for services rendered. This role involves working closely with insurance companies and internal staff to resolve electronic health record (EHR) billing issues, verify patient eligibility, and follow up on claims. The specialist will be responsible for preparing and submitting clean claims, tracking payments, handling denials, and maintaining billing documentation in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and correct billing errors in the EHR (Credible) for behavioral health services.

  • Review and resolve billing support tickets; ensure timely and accurate claim submission.

  • Process and track insurance and patient billing statements, payments, and collections.

  • Verify and update client insurance eligibility on a monthly basis.

  • Monitor, report, and reconcile program revenue and housing grant billing.

  • Follow up on unpaid claims and resubmit when necessary; coordinate paybacks when required.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of billing activities and insurance updates.

  • Assist with prior authorization requests and grant invoice preparation (e.g., EGMS, HUD, county funds).

  • Provide training on payment processing as needed.

  • Establish payment plans considering patients’ financial circumstances.

  • Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, particularly for facilities and third-party insurance.

  • Knowledge of healthcare billing procedures and HIPAA regulations.

  • Experience with data entry and electronic claims processing.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Familiarity with behavioral health billing and insurance eligibility systems (DHS/MNITS).
