About the Job
Under the direction of the Clinic Manager, the Clinical Supervisor oversees back-office operations within the clinic and steps in to assume full leadership responsibilities in the manager’s absence. This role is key in ensuring consistent and efficient day-to-day clinical functions, including managing medical assistant schedules, supervising their daily duties, and supporting ongoing training and annual competencies.
The Clinical Supervisor plays an essential role in maintaining a positive patient experience by upholding WVMC’s core values: Championing Patient Care, Doing the Right Thing, Embracing Individuality, Acting with Kindness, and Making a Difference Together. This position provides direct supervision and acts as a key resource for Certified Medical Assistants.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a backup for CMA staff and provide triage support for RN staff as needed

Proactively address patient concerns in real time

Review and scrub schedules, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Quality Management Benchmarks

Monitor and manage patient inquiries in Athena staff buckets (e.g., prescription refills, DME requests, external provider communications) with a four-hour response window

Ensure accurate and timely EMR documentation, including obtaining urgent prior authorizations and patient notifications

Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA standards and patient confidentiality

Promote a culture of professionalism, ethical conduct, and teamwork across clinical operations
