Maia is seeking an experienced Medical Coder to support orthopedic practices by ensuring accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding for surgical procedures and E&M visits. This remote contract role emphasizes coding compliance, documentation review, and providing actionable feedback to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Review operative notes, clinic notes, and supporting documentation for coding accuracy.

Assign CPT, ICD-10, and modifier codes according to current guidelines.

Identify documentation gaps and provide constructive feedback to physicians and staff.

Collaborate with clinical and product teams to ensure coding recommendations are actionable and clinically relevant.

Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality in all coding activities.
Required Qualifications

Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent credential.

Minimum 2 years of coding experience in orthopedics or surgical specialties.

Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifier use.

Detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
