Position Overview
OCHIN is hiring a Coding Specialist to deliver accurate healthcare coding services for member clinics and hospital organizations. This role ensures coding compliance, optimizes revenue, improves accuracy, and supports streamlined billing processes. You’ll collaborate with providers and supervisors to resolve complex coding issues and contribute to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities

Review and assign diagnosis and procedure codes using EpicCare.

Ensure compliance with payer requirements and coding standards.

Communicate with providers for documentation clarification.

Identify high-risk trends and suggest improvements.

Meet productivity goals and reduce back-end coding errors.

Maintain patient confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations.

Support billing, data entry, and related projects.
Requirements
Education & Certification

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s preferred.

CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA) certification required; CEUs must be maintained.
Experience
-
3+ years of relevant coding experience.

FQHC/RHC and Epic system knowledge preferred.

Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp, MVA, and private insurance billing.

Spanish/dual-language skills a plus.
Work from Home Requirements

Travel up to 20% for Go Live support or business needs.
