About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Medical Collectors to join our remote team supporting long-term acute care hospitals (LTACHs) and outpatient services. In this role, you will manage the full cycle of medical collections, claims follow-up, and reimbursement processes while working independently in a productivity-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full claims lifecycle: follow-up, re-billing, appeals, edits, adjustments, and collections.

  • Communicate with payers, government agencies, providers, and patients to resolve outstanding balances.

  • Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice to address denials.

  • Process manual and electronic billing submissions.

  • Use templates to submit appeals and track outcomes.

  • Analyze reimbursement issues and calculate expected payments based on contracts and fee schedules.

  • Document all activity and maintain up-to-date claim statuses.

  • Handle an average caseload of 18–20 claims per day.


Must-Have Qualifications

  • 2+ years of medical collections experience.

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of UB-04 billing forms.

  • Background in hospital inpatient (IP) or outpatient collections.

  • Familiarity with payer reimbursement processes and fee schedules.

  • Understanding of denial codes, contractual adjustments, and appeals.

  • Experience using Wellsky and HMS.

  • Proficiency in basic Excel functions.


Nice-to-Have Skills

  • LTACH collections experience.

  • Strong math and analytical skills.

  • Ability to identify and track claim trends.
