A respected community hospital in a culturally rich area of New York City is seeking a Director of Ambulatory Care to lead their Adult Ambulatory Care Department. This is a key role blending operational and medical leadership to ensure high-quality, efficient, and compassionate care for a diverse patient population. The Director will oversee a skilled team, drive quality improvement, set standards, and collaborate with administration to advance the hospital’s mission. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of the Ambulatory Care Department for quality, productivity, and satisfaction.
- Drive quality and safety improvements and enhance patient experience.
- Manage clinical staffing, recruitment, mentorship, and physician development.
- Develop and implement policies for efficient care delivery, documentation, and population health.
- Engage with practice physicians, set expectations, and promote best practices.
- Manage risk, compliance, patient feedback, and physician well-being.
- Champion educational initiatives and support physician learning.
- Advocate for practice-related strategic projects.
- Serve as a liaison for effective teamwork and communication across departments.
Qualifications:
- Medical Degree and New York State Medical License.
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or Business (MPH, MHA, MBA, or MS) preferred.
- Residency-trained and Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Prior leadership experience in academic medical centers or public health systems highly valued.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse staff and stakeholders.
