Your Impact

As a key part of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative and customer support to ensure a seamless patient experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling patient appointments efficiently and accurately.
  • Creating and maintaining patient records, ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Scanning, filing, and organizing patient documents to maintain accurate records.
  • Managing incoming phone calls, assisting patients with inquiries and appointment coordination.
  • Obtaining insurance authorizations and verifying coverage.
  • Providing financial counseling for patients and processing over-the-counter (OTC) payments.
  • Conducting daily document research using an electronic health/medical record (EMR) system.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Less than one year of experience in customer service, administration, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license required (must meet standards outlined in Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures).

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience working with electronic health/medical record (EMR) systems (preferably NextGen and/or OnBase).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical insurance policies, including coding, billing, and reimbursement procedures.
  • Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
  • Experience using office equipment and software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), email systems, automated billing software, fax machines, calculators, copiers, and postage machines.
  • Basic administrative math and accounting skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional bending or twisting may be required.
  • Must be able to talk and hear clearly, both in person and via phone.
  • Regular use of hands to operate standard office equipment and reach with arms, including overhead.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
