Medical Professional

Responsibilities:

  • Perform medical evaluations of potential donors for automated plasmapheresis procedures.

  • Assess donor suitability of new applicants in consultation with a donor center physician.

  • Provide limited emergency care, including medication administration or treatments.

  • Ensure compliance with criteria for normal plasma donors and maintain communication logs regarding donor suitability.

  • Review blood tests (normal and abnormal) to determine donor suitability.

  • Counsel donors with abnormal test results and provide appropriate deferrals.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized healthcare program.

  • Current licensure as an EMT-Paramedic, RN, or LPN.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Ability to educate donors, staff, and the community about our plasma donation program.

  • Highly organized, team-oriented, flexible, and comfortable in a busy medical environment.

  • Basic computer proficiency; Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

  • Blood bank or plasma center experience preferred.

  • One or more years of experience in a hospital, field care, or plasma center setting preferred.
