Job Summary

This position offers post-graduate training through a structured pharmacy residency program, supervised by experienced clinical pharmacists and pharmacy staff. During the residency, you’ll provide direct clinical services, collaborate with medical teams on drug utilization and cost management, and support pharmacy distribution operations for patients.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Licensure/Certification

  • Must be eligible for and obtain licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Texas within 90 days of starting the residency.

  • In exceptional circumstances, a 30-day extension may be granted by the residency program director.

  • Sterile Product Certification through an in-house or accredited program is preferred.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Strong commitment to customer service.

  • Familiarity with pharmacy and hospital-based computer systems and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services and participate in cost-saving initiatives while continuously seeking improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure patient safety and care quality by following hospital protocols, maintaining productivity, and managing resources effectively.

  • Conduct and contribute to clinical research focused on evaluating medication therapies for both clinical and economic outcomes.

  • Support staff development by participating in educational programs and mentoring team members.

  • Serve as a trusted resource for pharmacy staff, physicians, and nursing teams.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of drug utilization reviews, particularly for high-cost or high-risk medications.

  • Promote a culture of continuous learning through ongoing education and professional development.

  • Embody Memorial Hermann’s commitment to compassionate, safe, and efficient care in every patient and team interaction.

  • Fulfill additional duties as required.
