About the Role
Volunteer State Virtual Academy (VSVA), a Stride K12 partner school, is seeking a passionate and certified Career and Technical Education (CRE) Teacher to deliver engaging online instruction. The ideal candidate is committed to student success, personalized learning, and post-secondary preparation.
As a CRE Teacher, you will manage the learning process, provide academic and career guidance, and collaborate with students, parents, and school teams using K12’s learning management system and online career tools such as Career Builder and Career Cruising.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous lessons aligned with state and industry standards.

Personalize learning experiences and differentiate instruction based on student needs.

Maintain student progress, gradebooks, and academic integrity using K12’s LMS.

Prepare students for state and national standardized assessments.

Build strong relationships with students, parents, and learning coaches.

Support families with curriculum-related and technical issues in line with school policies.

Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities.

Serve as an advisor for Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSO).

Assist with building business and industry partnerships for student work-based learning.

Support a project-based learning model to enhance real-world applications.

Attend required in-person sessions for PDs, testing, and school events.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree
-
Tennessee Middle School CTE Teaching Certification (or eligible to obtain before employment)

Ability to clear a background check

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Strong adaptability to new technologies and virtual teaching platforms
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience teaching middle or high school students

Prior online or blended teaching experience

Experience using educational technology tools

Proven success supporting students in a virtual environment
Additional Information

This is a home-based, full-time position.

Must maintain a professional home office setup, free from distractions.
