Position Overview
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), this role is responsible for providing routine patient care and support services, with a specific focus on continuous cardiac monitoring. The Monitor Technician accurately interprets cardiac rhythms for an assigned patient population, ensuring timely response and adherence to established care standards, policies, and procedures. The role combines technical proficiency, strong communication skills, and compassionate patient interaction to support optimal patient outcomes and care experiences.
Technicians in this position demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong observational skills, and a commitment to patient privacy and safety, while fully complying with local, state, and federal regulations.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure & Certifications

BLS – Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (required)

One of the following must be obtained within 30 days of hire:

EKG Technician certification

CCT (CCI) – Certified Cardiographic Technician

CRAT (CCI) – Cardiac Rhythm Analysis Technician

Required Skills & Knowledge

Knowledge of basic patient care principles, medical terminology, and monitoring equipment.

Ability to accurately recognize and appropriately respond to emergency situations.

Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and care teams.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), EPIC EHR, and related clinical systems.

Ability to interpret instructions and data in written, oral, or visual form.

Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Compensation

Pay Range: $24.89 – $31.09/hour
