Multi skilled Carpenter or improver carpenter

Overview:

We are a friendly, family-run construction company seeking a Skilled Carpenter / Multi-Trader, or a Semi-Skilled Improver Carpenter eager to learn on the job. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and growing team working on residential projects, offering a variety of carpentry and multi-trade work.

Whether you’re an experienced professional or just starting out, we’re interested in hearing from you — especially if you can hang doors and are confident (or learning) in 1st fix carpentry and roof structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures (e.g., doors, frames, skirting, wall panels)

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications accurately

• Perform precise measurements and cut materials accordingly using hand and power tools

• Carry out 1st fix carpentry, roofing, and general framing tasks

• Assemble furniture, partitions, or bespoke fittings as required

• Support additional masonry or multi-trade work when needed

• Collaborate with electricians, plumbers, and other trades for coordinated project work

• Maintain tools and ensure site safety at all times

• Adhere to all health & safety regulations and building codes

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Carpenter or Multi-Trader (or enthusiasm to train if an improver)

• Confident using hand and power tools (saws, drills, chisels, hammers, levels, etc.)

• Experience with 1st fix carpentry, roof work, or door hanging is highly desirable

• Joinery or masonry experience is an advantage but not essential

• Good physical fitness – ability to lift and handle materials

• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship

• Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team

• Valid UK driving licence preferred (for travel between job sites)
