About the Role

G&L Contractors Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Multi-Trade Builder to join our friendly, close-knit team based in Ickenham. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who takes pride in their work and values quality craftsmanship, leadership, and customer satisfaction.

You’ll be carrying out general building, repairs, and maintenance work across a variety of projects, including local council contracts, schools, estate agency properties, and private residential jobs. You’ll also manage a full-time labourer on-site, so strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

This is a varied and hands-on role that requires initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service every time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of maintenance and building tasks

  • Lead a labourer and oversee on-site work

  • Use hand and power tools to complete carpentry, plumbing, flooring, and painting jobs

  • Liaise with clients to ensure satisfaction and quality assurance

  • Work to deadlines and maintain site cleanliness and safety standards

  • Address client concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of multi-trade building experience

  • Full UK Driving Licence (company van & fuel card provided)

  • Strong skills in:

    • Painting & decorating

    • Carpentry (e.g. stud walls, doors)

    • Plumbing (basic repair and installation)

    • Flooring and tiling

    • Plastering and general maintenance

  • Good time management and reliability

  • Professionalism and customer service focus

  • Ability to manage small teams

  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (paid by employer)

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

  • NVQ Trade Qualifications

  • Roofing experience

  • Prior work with councils, schools, or residential developments
