About the Role

Sanctuary is looking for a skilled Multi-Trade Operative to join its in-house maintenance team. You’ll carry out responsive repairs in tenanted and void properties, focusing on general building tasks including plumbing, carpentry, and plaster patching. The position is primarily lone working, but team collaboration may be required.

You’ll be equipped with a company van and power tools and work across regions in South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend properties to complete building repairs, fault fixing, and maintenance

  • Communicate clearly with tenants and provide timely progress updates

  • Maintain van stock and restock materials when needed

  • Deliver high-quality customer service

  • Provide out-of-hours cover as part of a call-out rota

  • Follow all relevant health and safety regulations and working practices

Essential Skills and Experience

  • NVQ Level 2 (or actively studying) in a core trade (e.g., carpentry, electrical)

  • For plumbing roles: Level 3 + Unvented (G3) Certificate and WRAS

  • Experience in plumbing installations and general building repair

  • Strong communication and customer care skills

  • Organised and able to prioritise workload independently

  • Able to present original qualification certificates at interview (copies and CSCS cards are not accepted)
