Egis, renowned for its extensive experience in delivering complex projects globally, is seeking a Municipal Infrastructure Engineer to join our Transportation Municipal Team, based in the Montreal or Ottawa offices, with a hybrid work environment available. The successful candidate will be involved in diverse and impactful projects, including the preliminary and detailed design of rail and transit projects, integrated road reconstruction, linear infrastructure projects such as sewer and watermain systems, as well as active transportation initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects and a chance to tackle complex engineering challenges.
Egis has supported over 350 rail infrastructure projects and delivered more than 12,000 km of high-speed rail across three continents, ranking 8th worldwide for mass transit and rail. Our urban transit projects include metro, tramways, and light rail systems, with a focus on sustainability and operational efficiency. Notable achievements include the first driverless metro in Lyon and major projects like the Doha and Grand Paris metros.
Key Responsibilities:
Stay ahead of industry trends and standards, assess client needs, and provide clear, effective solutions while ensuring timely client invoicing and strong financial project performance.
Serve as a trusted resource for municipal design standards, supporting and guiding internal teams and disciplines.
Take a leading role in preparing engineering proposals that align with client goals and objectives.
Develop detailed technical designs, specifications, and reports for a wide range of municipal projects, ensuring quality deliverables.
Manage project schedules effectively to deliver on time and meet or exceed client expectations.
Oversee projects from concept through design to construction, driving success at every stage.
Provide design expertise and support to other Project Managers, contributing to seamless project delivery.
Build strong relationships by liaising with clients, government agencies, regulatory bodies, and contractors to ensure smooth communication and project alignment.
Foster positive, lasting relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and trust.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills and attributes:
A university degree in Engineering, with preference given to candidates holding an Ing. or P.Eng. designation.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering design and project management within the municipal sector, with additional expertise in proposal writing and business development considered an asset.
Proven expertise in the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership skills, with a history of mentoring and guiding technical staff to achieve project success.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, paired with attention to detail.
Outstanding communication skills, with a talent for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Excellent organizational abilities combined with a flexible, solution-oriented approach to overcoming challenges.
Fluency in both written and spoken French and English, ensuring effective communication.
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel as required.
Familiarity with rail and transit projects, which will be viewed as a valuable asset.
