About the Role
The National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for driving operational performance strategy and execution for Cigna clients with 3,000+ employee lives. This role develops and delivers client service strategies that support global benefit programs, wellness goals, and employee relations, while also achieving Cigna’s growth, persistency, and earnings objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Support membership growth, profitability, and retention through account oversight and management strategies.

Collaborate with Advocacy partners to enhance benefit and service strategies for better customer and client experiences.

Stay current with market and service trends to effectively promote Cigna’s tools and services.

Partner with the National Account Executive (NAE) on account retention, growth, renewal activities, and RFP processes.

Build and maintain “trusted advisor” relationships with clients and consultants, aligning Cigna’s capabilities with client goals.

Maintain deep knowledge across all Cigna product lines, including healthcare, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, and global solutions.

Ensure compliance with health care reform requirements and effectively communicate impacts to clients.

Lead in dental reporting, analytics, provider network management, and client-specific network communications.

Implement consumerism strategies and engagement campaigns to drive enrollment growth and behavior change.

Represent Cigna at client forums, consultant meetings, and market-based events.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree OR 5+ years related experience.

Minimum 3 years in healthcare/managed care with expertise in: product knowledge, underwriting, financial analysis, marketing, sales practices, and account management.

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to plan strategically and operationally in a matrixed environment.

Must be able to travel up to 25%.

Ability to obtain necessary licenses.
