The Opportunity
Velera is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Executive to drive growth by securing new business across credit and debit card processing, as well as other financial technology solutions. Reporting with minimal supervision, you will identify new opportunities, navigate the competitive landscape, and represent Velera with professionalism and strategic insight. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in expanding market presence, building brand reputation, and forming trusted relationships with key stakeholders and consultants.
A Day in the Life

Drive new business by promoting Velera’s financial products and services within your assigned territory.

Support the VP of Sales in revenue forecasting and strategic planning.

Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through structured weekly outreach, lead follow-up, and timely responses to RFPs.

Actively participate in regional and national sales campaigns and initiatives.

Deliver compelling proposals and presentations—virtually and on-site—featuring detailed pricing and incentive packages.

Maintain consistent, effective communication with prospective clients, identifying and addressing sales process barriers.

Represent Velera at industry events, including state league meetings, speaking engagements, and collaborative projects.

Ensure a seamless transition of new clients to Account Executives for ongoing relationship management.

Meet or exceed annual revenue targets established at the start of the fiscal year.

Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activities.

Engage internal subject matter experts when needed to support the sales process.

Perform other duties as assigned to support business growth and operational excellence.
What You’ll Need

High school diploma or equivalent (required); Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of external sales experience in the banking or credit union industry, OR 8 years of external sales/business development experience.

Experience in product training and demonstrations.

Strong cold-calling and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.

Willingness and ability to travel 50–60% of the time.

Compensation

Salary Range: $84,900 – $108,200
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
