Network Engineer, AWS Infrastructure Services
Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Network Engineer and be part of the team that designs, delivers, and operates the world’s largest cloud infrastructure. You’ll contribute to keeping the cloud running by automating the deployment and scaling of our global network, supporting Amazon’s Retail, Kindle, Payments, and numerous AWS services. This role involves working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to ensure the highest quality and reliability for our customers while innovating to automate network scaling across our expanding global data center footprint.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate the deployment of network infrastructure across global network fabrics.
- Deploy, scale, and automate network infrastructure in both existing and new data center locations.
- Drive the scaling of current network designs to meet customer demand.
- Develop simple and repeatable deployment processes to enhance speed and quality.
- Collaborate with internal customers to design and implement network solutions from concept to production.
- Create and maintain network standards and ensure adherence during deployments.
- Implement network changes and automate deployment workflows globally.
- Partner with automation teams to transition to and design new scaling tools.
A Day in the Life:
- Manage engineering projects and consultants.
- Travel to inspect field projects.
- Collaborate with various teams involved in data center operations.
- Prioritize tasks to ensure data center capacity and safety.
- Work on both local and global projects.
- Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (Operations, Commissioning, Construction, Design).
- Perform on-site fieldwork for detailed understanding.

Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols.
- 4+ years of experience in a Linux/Unix environment.
- Associate’s degree, or relevant certifications (CEH, CFR, Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of automation scripting experience (Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl).
