Network DevOps Engineer

📍 Location: Bolton, Bristol, or Stevenage (Relocation support may be available)
💰 Salary: Up to £55,000 (Depending on experience)
🔄 Hybrid Working: 2-3 days on-site per week (subject to business needs)
🔐 Security Clearance: British Citizenship required (DV Clearance will be required)


About the Role

We are looking for a Network DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic, multi-national Information Management team! This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance network automation, scalability, and security through cutting-edge DevOps practices.

In this role, you will be modernizing network management, driving automation initiatives, and helping to upskill team members. You will play a key part in building an automated, resilient network infrastructure that supports MBDA’s critical systems and evolving needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Network Source of Truth to ensure a reliable automation foundation
  • Develop, implement, and maintain network automation scripts (using Ansible & Python)
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to deploy, test, and validate network configurations
  • Maintain version-controlled repositories for network automation scripts
  • Support and train colleagues on effective use of network automation tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network automation into broader DevOps workflows

What We’re Looking For

Strong networking knowledge: TCP/UDP, IP, DNS, Routing, Switching, Subnetting, VLANs, Load Balancing
Understanding of network security zones and architectures
Familiarity with Cisco technologies (especially DNAC & ACI is desirable)
Scripting experience: Proficiency in Ansible Playbooks & Python for network automation
Version control expertise: Git/GitLab CI/CD is preferred
Experience with APIs & data formats (YAML, JSON)
Knowledge of Network Source of Truth applications (e.g., Nautobot is a plus)
Containerization experience (Docker & Kubernetes)
Proficiency in Linux OS (preferably RHEL)
RedHat OpenShift experience (desirable)
Certifications: Cisco DevNet Associate (or higher) would be advantageous
