About the Role
Ascend Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This fully remote role (US only) focuses on delivering operational support, designing, and securing network infrastructure for our diverse client base. As a technical leader, you will set the standard for troubleshooting, project execution, and customer service while mentoring other engineers.
Key Responsibilities

Address escalated tickets and resolve complex network issues.

Maintain and secure client networks, ensuring compliance and reliability.

Design, configure, and deploy enterprise network solutions across firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless systems.

Lead projects for data network design and implementation in collaboration with professional services teams.

Document client networks, including creating accurate network diagrams.

Partner with vendors to drive case resolution.

Mentor junior engineers and provide training support.

Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance team efficiency.
Preferred Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, or related field.

5+ years of advanced network engineering experience (MSP background preferred).

Strong communication and project management skills with a sense of urgency.

Advanced knowledge of cloud networking in Azure and AWS.

Familiarity with VoIP technologies.

Hands-on expertise with Fortinet, Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, and Ubiquiti solutions.

Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and monitoring tools (LogicMonitor preferred).

Relevant certifications: Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Fortinet FCP (or equivalent experience).

Ability to learn and adapt quickly to emerging technologies.
