We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our Marine Corps Afloat C4 Systems Integration Team (AC4SIT). In this role, you will support naval integration of Marine Corps C4I systems, working alongside government professionals and Marines aboard amphibious ships. As a Network Engineer, you will validate network installations, configurations, and performance, while resolving technical challenges that impact secure communication and information exchange. This remote-friendly role requires occasional onsite presence, up to 25% travel, and provides excellent opportunities for career growth, advanced technology exposure, and professional development.


Key Responsibilities of a Network Engineer

Team & Technical Support

As a Network Engineer, you will provide enterprise-level integration support, guiding Marine network administrators aboard Navy ships. You’ll troubleshoot LAN/WAN architecture issues, develop enterprise-level network designs, and deliver hands-on technical expertise.

System Configuration & Troubleshooting

The Network Engineer will configure and resolve issues across Microsoft Servers (2016–2019), Exchange, Active Directory, DNS, VMware (vCenter/VSAN), Cisco routing & switching, VOIP, and tactical VTC systems. You’ll also create and manage firewall rules while troubleshooting SATCOM and tactical radio connections.


Core Duties of a Network Engineer

Security & Compliance

The Network Engineer will implement and troubleshoot HBSS, ACAS, PKI, and USMC tactical applications while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards. You’ll actively contribute to joint service working groups, aligning USMC technical requirements with Navy stakeholders.

Operational Excellence

From developing testing strategies and documenting results to building job aids for Marines, the Network Engineer will play a critical role in preparing shipboard networks for secure Marine Force operations.


Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance required

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • 4+ years of experience supporting USMC or DoD networks

  • DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+)

  • Ability to travel 10–25% annually, including naval shipboard environments

  • Strong customer support, troubleshooting, and network administration skills

Desired Skills:

  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications

  • Experience with SD-WAN and joint service projects

  • Knowledge of enterprise IT and tactical network systems
