About the Role
As a Network Engineer at SAIC, you’ll be responsible for configuring, installing, and maintaining network infrastructure that supports multi-cloud environments. You’ll collaborate with engineers and administrators to optimize performance, ensure network reliability, and apply best practices in cloud security and automation.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure across GCP and OCI platforms.

Apply cloud security best practices and implement secure network configurations.

Manage and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco CSR devices.

Configure and monitor TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and BGP protocols.

Manage and optimize Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) and subnet configurations.

Deploy and maintain software-defined networking (SDN) and virtual network components.

Oversee IAM integration for secure access control within cloud environments.

Install and configure routers, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.

Perform routine network maintenance, patching, and upgrades.

Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and plan for capacity.

Provide Level 2/3 technical support and resolve complex network issues.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience (or 4 years in lieu of degree).

U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Proficiency in GCP and OCI environments.

Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco firewalls.

Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, TFTP, NAT, SSL, and IEEE 802.1 standards.

Hands-on experience with EKS clusters and Terraform (including AWS Security Group deployments).

Expertise in AWS Transit Gateway, routing, and load balancing.

Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues using packet captures.

Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of experience managing enterprise-level network environments.

Azure Fundamentals certification.

Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification.
Compensation
Target salary range: $80,000 – $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
