Job Summary
Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking an APPGATE Engineer to support the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) – Increment 1 program. This remote role focuses on building, maintaining, and securing APPGATE environments to modernize Army IT infrastructure worldwide. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with zero trust solutions, AppGate SDP, and enterprise network security, while mentoring team members and collaborating across engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities

Build, configure, and maintain the APPGATE environment for AGUN programs.

Mentor junior team members on implementations, best practices, and solution maintenance.

Collaborate with O&M and security teams to secure and patch AppGate systems.

Develop, document, and maintain APPGATE knowledge bases, standard operating procedures, and TTPs.

Troubleshoot enterprise issues across AGUN environments.

Perform vulnerability scans and implement patching strategies to maintain secure network infrastructure.

Apply Agile methodologies to drive efficient project delivery and problem resolution.
Basic Qualifications
-
Active DoD SECRET security clearance (US Citizenship required).

Active DoD 8570 IAT-II certification.

BS degree with 8–12 years relevant experience, or MS degree with 6–10 years, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

AppGate SDP Administrator certification.

5+ years experience with 2+ of the following:

Zero Trust & AppGate: AppGate SDP/ZTNA, SPA, context-based policies, access control.

Cisco RAVPN solutions.

Automation & Scripting: Terraform, Python, PowerShell, RESTful APIs, Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within Army IT infrastructure or Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) programs.

Networking & Security knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN (IPSec, SSL), Firewalls, IDS/IPS, LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, OIDC, PKI, TLS.

Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu), Windows.

Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes.
Salary & Benefits

Pay Range: $104,650 – $189,175 (based on experience, education, and internal equity).
