About the Job
Penumbra is seeking a skilled Network Operations Engineer to support and maintain the company’s network infrastructure. This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and managing network systems including wireless, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and LAN. You will collaborate with engineering and security teams, handle incident resolution, implement network changes, and contribute to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor and resolve network incidents during business hours; provide off-shift support during major outages

Support and maintain network devices, firewalls, and infrastructure

Assist in network design and implementation of software/hardware changes

Participate in project teams and contribute to continuous process improvements
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

10+ years managing and operating network infrastructure and devices
-
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls (especially Palo Alto), VPNs, and network protocols (OSPF, BGP, ISIS)
-
Experience with Cisco hardware (Catalyst 9000, Nexus 93k), wireless systems, SolarWinds, and network security tools
-
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

Experience in regulated industries (medical devices, biotech, pharma) preferred
-
Scripting/programming skills are a plus
Working Conditions

Office-based with occasional travel (up to 10%)

On-call rotation and flexible scheduling to support 24/7 operations

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move within multi-floor buildings
