Job Purpose
As a Nurse PT, you will help create a climate of health and well-being for students, staff, and the school community. You will support the instructional program by ensuring compliance with state health laws, providing direct care, and promoting a safe and healthy learning environment aligned with CSUSA’s mission.
How You Will Impact Education
Assessment

Maintain an up-to-date health record system using technology.

Plan and conduct health screenings, examinations, and appraisals per state law and CSUSA policy.

Monitor newly enrolled students for compliance with immunization and medical requirements.
Consultation
-
Advise and counsel students, staff, and parents on health issues.

Refer students to appropriate school resources or community agencies.

Serve as a health consultant in curriculum planning and policy development.
Emergency Care

Provide first aid and assist emergency caregivers as needed.

Maintain accurate emergency care records.
School Environment
-
Recommend improvements to promote health and safety within the school.

Administer medication in line with state law and CSUSA policies.
School & Community Relations
-
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health.

Keep staff informed of relevant health issues.

Liaise with local health-related organizations for resources and support.
Required Qualifications and Skills
-
Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state.

Certification as a School Nurse (or working toward certification per state law).

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
-
3+ years of nursing experience (school nursing preferred).

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Student Information Systems.

Knowledge of Federal, State, and local K-12 education and health requirements preferred.
