Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff with patient care tasks, both clinical and non-clinical, in accordance with assigned duties.

  • Accurately gather and report relevant patient data in an objective manner.

  • Communicate important patient information to RNs or LPNs to support continuity of care.

  • Document care activities appropriately, following Ridgeview Medical Center policies and procedures.

  • Serve as a Patient Safety Attendant when needed.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Note: Nursing Assistants under 18 years of age are not permitted to operate patient lifts.


Minimum Education and Experience

One of the following is required:

  • Current Nursing Assistant certification or completion of a Nursing Assistant or EMT training program

  • One year of Nursing Assistant experience (with at least six consecutive months at one facility)

  • Enrollment in an accredited LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program

  • Or an approved combination of education and relevant experience


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to meet and maintain background check requirements based on role responsibilities

  • Proficiency in English for effective communication and documentation

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to respond effectively to a variety of patient needs and unpredictable situations

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Sound critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment


Licenses/Certifications

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Nursing Assistant is preferred


Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and aligned with Ridgeview Medical Center’s pay structure and guidelines.
