Position Overview:
Join a mission-driven healthcare team at Essentia Health where your contributions make a meaningful impact every day. As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will deliver hands-on, compassionate care to patients, ensuring their safety, dignity, and comfort. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (and potentially under the guidance of an LPN), you will help meet both the immediate needs of patients and the broader goals of the organization.
This position will support patient care in specialized units including Neurotrauma, Burn, Medical ICU, and Intermediate Care (IMC).
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with daily personal care and hygiene needs
-
Support nutritional intake and patient comfort
-
Accurately and safely transfer patients and monitor vital signs
-
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
-
Promptly report changes in a patient’s condition to the RN
-
Help create and maintain a clean, safe, and healing environment
-
Comply with Joint Commission standards and all applicable regulatory guidelines
Qualifications:
Education/Experience – Must meet one of the following criteria:
-
At least 6 months of nursing assistant experience
-
Completion of at least one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program
-
Enrollment in the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire
-
Verified completion of an accredited nurse aide training program
-
Current listing on the appropriate state nursing assistant registry
Certification:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire
