Job Description

As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide direct care and support to patients in a manner that promotes their safety, comfort, and well-being. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (and potentially guided by an LPN), you will play a key role in helping Essentia Health achieve its mission and goals.
Responsibilities vary by patient care unit or department and may include:

Assisting patients with personal hygiene and nutritional needs

Providing comfort and emotional support

Safely transferring and positioning patients

Recording vital signs and maintaining accurate documentation

Observing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN

Ensuring a clean, safe environment that supports healing and recovery
You will work within your role’s scope to uphold standards set by The Joint Commission and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Educational Qualifications
Applicants must meet at least one of the following:

Successful completion of a recognized nurse aide training program

Current registration on the applicable state nursing assistant registry
Additionally, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within one month of hire.
