About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Insurance Billing and Follow-Up Specialist II to join our remote team. In this contract role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement by managing billing workflows, resolving claim issues, and working with both government and commercial payers.

If you have a strong background in medical billing, collections, and navigating complex claims processes, this is a great opportunity to contribute to a high-impact revenue cycle team—all from home.


Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve billing errors, edits, Stop Bills, and “DNBs” to ensure timely claim submission

  • Accurately transmit daily claims with all required documentation

  • Verify eligibility and claim status for unpaid claims

  • Review and resolve payment denials, discrepancies, and appeals

  • Respond to customer service inquiries related to billing and claims

  • Perform charge corrections and submit replacement or cancel claims

  • Provide feedback to management on recurring payer trends

  • Work assigned account queues according to departmental guidelines

  • Contact patients to gather missing information for claim processing

  • Collaborate with payers and internal stakeholders to ensure resolution


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Occupational Health medical billing and collections experience

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

  • Experience with Epic systems and payer platforms

  • Strong knowledge of billing workflows and payer regulations

Pay & Benefits

Pay Range: $19.00 – $22.00/hour
