Responsibilities:
- Instructs residents in essential skills, techniques, and the use of adaptive equipment to enhance their participation in daily activities.
- Assesses, monitors, and documents residents’ progress and engagement in therapy.
- Administers treatments and therapeutic interventions to restore function, improve mobility, and prevent disabilities resulting from injury, surgery, illness, or physical impairments.
- Adheres strictly to the Rehabilitation Services Department’s standard practice, ensuring all treatments align with traditional and evidence-based medicine.
- Provides occupational therapy services in a long-term care setting, promoting residents’ well-being and independence.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree in occupational therapy from an accredited college or university recognized by the American Occupational Therapy Association, or be scheduled for the board examination.
- Must possess a current occupational therapy license in the state of Colorado.
- Current BLS (CPR) certification required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment with Grand River Health.
- Prior hands-on experience in occupational therapy, with a preference for experience in a long-term care setting.
- Strong ability to collaborate and maintain positive working relationships within the department and across other healthcare teams.
