Occupational Therapist – Large Acute Care Hospital (600+ Beds) – California
Our client, a prominent publicly owned hospital in California with over 600 beds, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join their team. This opportunity offers a highly competitive compensation package ranging from $47 to $71 per hour, along with exceptional benefits, including:

Qualifications:

Current California Occupational Therapist License
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Key Responsibilities:
-
Conducts standard and non-standard evaluations based on patient needs, age, diagnosis, and clinical information.

Accurately documents patient progress and outcomes in a timely and comprehensive manner.
-
Develops individualized treatment plans aligned with physician directives.
-
Safely administers therapeutic interventions and adjusts treatment as needed.
-
Communicates patient functional needs to the healthcare team.
-
Coordinates with physicians regarding treatment modifications.
-
Provides education and training to patients, families, and caregivers for daily functional care.
-
Procures and adjusts patient equipment to ensure proper fit and function across care settings.
-
Completes daily billing and documentation requirements.
-
Supervises therapy aides and assistants in carrying out assigned tasks.
-
Engages in ongoing professional development and shares knowledge through departmental in-services.
-
Meets or exceeds productivity standards and regulatory compliance benchmarks (Joint Commission, CDPH, CMS, etc.).

Participates in new staff orientation and training.
-
Attends departmental meetings and contributes to team goals.
Special Consideration – Pediatric Assignments:
For therapists assigned to Infant, Pediatric, or Adolescent Units:

A CCS-paneled therapist will provide general supervision if services are rendered by a non-CCS-paneled therapist.

Conducts age-appropriate assessments and establishes customized treatment plans for infants, children, and adolescents with physical disabilities.

Coordinates with CCS case managers for continuity of care post-discharge and attends case conferences as needed.
Additional Expectations:

Actively contributes to daily departmental operations.

Participates in peer reviews and performance evaluations.
-
Demonstrates the ability to provide culturally competent care tailored to the developmental and linguistic needs of diverse patient populations.
