Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Home Health Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Evaluate patients’ ability to perform daily tasks and develop customized therapeutic plans with measurable goals.

  • Administer and interpret functional diagnostic tests to help physicians assess patients’ levels of independence.

  • Deliver therapy services based on physician orders to improve strength, coordination, range of motion, and overall function—or teach adaptive techniques as needed.

  • Collaborate with physicians and the care team to review and revise patient care plans regularly.

  • Provide training and support to patients, caregivers, and family members in activities such as dressing, grooming, and hygiene.

  • Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides in implementing care plans.

  • Recommend and/or design adaptive equipment to enhance patients’ living and working environments.

  • Support patients’ community reintegration and psychosocial adjustment through tailored rehabilitation programs.

  • Document all care activities, evaluations, and progress on the day services are provided, including verbal orders and treatment updates.

  • Participate in discharge planning and serve as a resource for other healthcare team members.


What You Need to Succeed

  • Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program

  • Current, unrestricted OT license in the state of practice

  • CPR certification (current)

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of occupational therapy experience preferred

  • Prior home health experience is a plus


Compensation

  • Pay per visit/unit: $49.00 – $69.00

  • Estimated annual base salary: $77,200 – $106,200
    (Actual compensation may vary depending on experience, location, and qualifications.)

  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32
