You are vital to our success. Every role has an impact on our patients’ lives, and we want you to be a part of our dedicated team. We are seeking a committed Occupational Therapist to join our inpatient team.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete occupational therapy process for an assigned group of patients, in coordination with the physician and care team. You will perform patient assessments and actively participate in developing and implementing individualized care plans that focus on goal achievement, patient engagement, and a positive experience. You will oversee or direct a majority of the patient’s therapy services throughout home health and the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within the professional scope of practice and ethical guidelines.

  • Assess and evaluate therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status of patients.

  • Participate in patient placement and the development of the total care plan.

  • Provide purposeful, skilled interaction to facilitate changes in condition and function aligned with the physician’s care plan.

  • Observe and report changes in patient’s condition and responses to treatments.

  • Communicate relevant payer needs/requirements to physicians, treatment teams, patients, and families.

  • Prioritize caseload, determine staffing needs, and coordinate assignments and handoffs.

Qualifications Required:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

  • Occupational Therapy license issued by the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.

  • Preferably, at least one year of experience in an inpatient rehab setting.
