About the Role
Join Portakabin’s successful Site Accommodation team as a Multi Skilled Operative, where you’ll be part of a hands-on team responsible for the installation, dismantling, refurbishment, and fit-out of Konstructa modular units. This mobile role will be based in Bristol but includes regular travel across the South West to customer sites.
You’ll start in the Bristol yard learning our processes, tools, and product range. From there, you’ll take your skills on the road — playing a vital role in delivering high-quality modular building solutions while upholding safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities

Install/dismantle modular units and complete on-site rectifications

Conduct joinery, plumbing, basic electrics, and decoration work

Prepare buildings for dispatch and assist in refurbishment both on- and off-site

Ensure equipment and tools are used correctly and maintained

Work safely in line with environmental and health & safety regulations

Act as a customer-facing representative, delivering excellent service

Support vehicle movements, site safety, and materials handling

Lead or support team installations, including extended stays as required
Essential Skills & Qualifications

Full UK Driving Licence (essential)

Forklift truck licence (preferred)

NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant trade/discipline

Experience installing and dismantling modular buildings

Strong operational knowledge of tools, fixtures, and fittings

Good literacy, numeracy, and IT usage

Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service focus

Willingness to travel regularly and work outdoors or away from home
