Role Overview: One Stop – Shift Leader
As a One Stop – Shift Leader, you will be responsible for managing store activities during your shifts, leading a team to deliver excellent service, and ensuring operational standards are met. Your leadership will contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers and a supportive work environment for colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate the team to provide the easiest shopping trip in the community.

Open and close the store, ensuring all decisions prioritize customer and colleague safety.

Act as the primary contact for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager.

Support the Store Manager in organizing seasonal, community, and charity events.

Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented store environment.

Prioritize the replenishment of essential products for customers.

Ensure point-of-sale and shelf-edge labels meet company standards.

Address and prevent overcharges promptly.

Manage queues effectively to enhance the customer shopping experience.

Coordinate colleague schedules, ensuring breaks align with trade patterns.

Communicate effectively with the team, keeping them informed and engaged.

Identify opportunities to simplify operations and share ideas with the Store Manager.

Resolve customer queries, leaving them satisfied with their experience.

Recognize and celebrate excellent colleague service.

Handle colleague queries in the absence of the Store Manager, escalating when necessary.

Ensure appropriate staffing levels, addressing short-term absences proactively.

Serve as a Keyholder, attending alarm call-outs to ensure store security.

Monitor and act on internal communications promptly.

Balance time between customer service and replenishment tasks.

Support absence management procedures, including conducting return-to-work interviews.

Build relationships with Area Managers and People Partners, seeking guidance when needed.

If applicable, manage Post Office operations, subject to background checks.
