Position Summary
The Substitute Teacher facilitates learning and supports academic progress for students in ResponsiveEd schools. This role maintains classroom discipline, manages records, and works with parents and students to implement individualized education plans, ensuring all students’ needs are met. Candidates may be called upon as substitutes on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities

Instruct and motivate students across all assigned subjects.

Assign lessons, grade homework, and maintain academic records.

Maintain classroom discipline and a safe, engaging learning environment.

Utilize varied teaching methods to enhance student learning.

Encourage and praise students to build self-esteem and character.

Maintain the learning center, promoting cleanliness, safety, and organization.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, administrative staff, and Campus Directors.

Adapt to changes in schedule, curriculum, and teaching environment as needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred (Highly Qualified status preferred but not required).

Teacher certification recommended but not required.

Teaching experience in a public school is preferred.

Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Computer literate and able to learn teaching curriculum software programs.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain flexibility in the classroom.

Passion for working with children and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Salary

Short-Term Substitute: $90/day (Non-Degreed) | $100/day (Degreed)

Long-Term Substitute: $110/day (Non-Degreed) | $120/day (Degreed)
