Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military service, or education.

  • Hands-on expertise with OpenShift Container Platform.

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through various work experiences, training, military background, or education.

  • 7+ years of DevSecOps experience with hands-on engineering expertise in OpenShift Container Platform.

  • Deep technical knowledge and proven experience in infrastructure design to support high-volume, multi-tier applications.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Recent success in influencing management on business and technical solutions.

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, PaaS design principles, microservices, and containers.

  • Experience with cloud computing concepts such as Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), landing zones, Identity and Access Management (IAM), App Service Environment, Blueprints, Control Plane, Azure Arc, and Google Anthos.

  • Collaborative experience with developers and architects to build solutions and resolve system/business challenges.

  • Expertise in leading technical discussions, problem identification, and resolution in cross-functional settings.

  • Proficient in CI/CD, DevOps concepts, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

  • Knowledge of database technologies including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL.

  • Experience managing large data sets, databases, file systems, and object storage.

  • Experience with deploying on PCF/TAS and Linux VMs.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with configuring and supporting application server software such as Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, MQ, etc.

  • Experience with tools like Harness.io and Ansible.

  • Knowledge of streaming and event-driven systems like Kafka and Flink.

  • Expertise in designing and implementing High Availability Database Configurations (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).

  • Understanding of Agile practices and experience in working with Agile teams to define and track user stories.

  • Familiarity with Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions such as SAML and PingFederate.

  • Experience designing and implementing complex load balancing technologies like F5 and AVI.

  • Experience in developing microservices and scripting in Java and Python.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Act as a subject matter expert to guide initiatives and resources addressing highly complex business and technical needs across Engineering.

  • Provide strategic consultation on resolving highly complex and unique challenges that require creative, innovative, and advanced analytical thinking for long-term, large-scale solutions.

  • Offer expertise to senior client leadership on innovative Engineering business solutions.

  • Engage strategically with client personnel to ensure alignment and success.

  • Focus on solution architecture, design, and engineering for OpenShift container platforms.

  • Play a pivotal role in enhancing cloud-native capabilities and ensuring secure, scalable, and robust application deployments.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define standards, execute POCs, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as UrbanCode Deploy, Harness, Jenkins, Artifactory, and HashiCorp products.

  • Lead teams in researching and proposing highly available, resilient, and fault-tolerant infrastructure solutions.

  • Design and implement migration strategies to Kubernetes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.

  • Manage integrations with CI/CD delivery pipelines using tools such as UrbanCode, Artifactory, Jenkins, and Harness.

  • Maintain a scalable, secure, and reliable OpenShift platform, addressing performance, availability, and security challenges.

  • Work in collaboration with development, operations, and security teams to understand their needs and deliver platform solutions.

  • Implement automation tools for application deployment, monitoring, and scaling on Kubernetes, using tools like Terraform and Vault.

  • Set up proactive monitoring and alerting systems to manage platform health, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and best practices related to Kubernetes.

  • Guide development teams in adopting Kubernetes best practices and utilizing the platform efficiently.

  • Collaborate with engineering, strategy, platform engineering, and development teams to understand infrastructure requirements and drive applications’ journey to the cloud platform.

  • Design platform and infrastructure architecture for cloud-ready applications, transforming and modernizing legacy systems for cloud-readiness.

  • Research and recommend modern technologies and best practices to improve automation, platform resiliency, and fault tolerance for critical applications.

  • Define and drive roadmaps aligned with technology and business strategy, including hardware and capacity planning, analysis, and forecasting for your application portfolio.

  • Provide deep technical leadership and consultation to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture across partner tech teams.
