Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Controller to oversee financial and operational performance across our Connecticut market. In this role, you will monitor financial metrics, assess operational efficiency, manage risk, and provide strategic recommendations to improve performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Monitoring & Analysis

Track and analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability

Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting

Identify cost-saving and improvement opportunities
Operational Efficiency

Evaluate and improve operational processes

Implement strategies to streamline workflows and reduce waste

Partner with cross-functional teams to adopt best practices
Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts

Conduct variance analysis against budget targets

Recommend adjustments to ensure financial goals are achieved
Risk Management

Identify and mitigate operational risks

Establish internal controls for compliance

Develop contingency plans for business continuity
Reporting & Communication

Prepare financial and operational performance reports for senior leadership

Deliver clear, data-driven insights and recommendations

Collaborate across finance, operations, and accounting teams
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Operations Management (CPA, MBA, or advanced degree preferred)

5+ years of experience in the Waste Industry strongly preferred

Proven expertise in operations management and financial analysis

Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (Excel, ERP systems)

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Experience in risk management and internal controls is a plus

Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements

Ability to work both independently and in collaborative, fast-paced environments
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $125,000 – $175,000 (commensurate with experience & qualifications)
