Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Physician provides comprehensive healthcare for patients in alignment with SBNC protocols and community standards. Responsibilities include health maintenance, acute episodic care, chronic illness management, patient education, and appropriate specialty referrals. The Physician supports SBNC’s mission of delivering quality, accessible healthcare to the community.
Clinical Responsibilities

Provide primary (or specialty, as credentialed) care to adults and/or children on both scheduled and walk-in basis.

Meet or exceed clinical productivity benchmarks and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Assist in coordination of care for complex patients.

Complete accurate, legible patient records at the time of visits.

Maintain and properly utilize all medical instruments and equipment.

Notify the Chief Medical Officer of any changes to licensure, DEA status, hospital privileges, Medicare/Medi-Cal participation, or reportable criminal convictions.

Adhere to all charting, prescribing, laboratory, pharmacy, and billing requirements in compliance with SBNC policies and program regulations.

Attend required quality improvement and staff meetings.

Ensure correct CPT coding, billing, and documentation for all patient visits.

Consult with the Chief Medical Officer on management of patients and interpretation of policy or protocol.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Licensure

MD or DO degree from a U.S.-accredited medical school.

Active and unrestricted California medical license.

Valid DEA license.
Experience
-
Clinical experience in a primary care setting (community clinic experience preferred).

Bilingual in English/Spanish desirable.
Other Requirements

Maintain all credentials required for lawful practice of medicine in California.

Current driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel locally within service area.

Flexibility to work varied hours, including alternating weekends.
