About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server to support our evolving technology infrastructure. This role is crucial for optimizing performance, ensuring scalability, and providing strategic guidance as we expand our facilities and product offerings. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with thought leadership to design efficient, sustainable database environments.


Key Responsibilities

Environment Assessment

  • Conduct a thorough review of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments.

  • Identify inefficiencies in current processes, web services, and application server configurations.

  • Evaluate interactions between web servers and middleware to improve performance and scalability.

Strategic Design & Architecture

  • Collaborate with leadership to design scalable, high-performance database solutions.

  • Recommend infrastructure improvements, including additional servers, CPUs, and storage solutions.

  • Ensure systems are optimized for future managed services and expansion.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain security patches across all database environments.

  • Develop strategies to safeguard systems against vulnerabilities and potential threats.

Performance Optimization

  • Streamline historical procedures and eliminate inefficiencies.

  • Maximize the potential of the existing tech stack while preparing for future growth.

Thought Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with applications and infrastructure teams to provide strategic insights.

  • Offer design-level solutions rather than basic, procedural fixes.


Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience as a DBA with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Proven ability to assess and optimize complex database environments.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and interdependent IT ecosystems.

  • Experience in CPG, food & beverage, or retail industries (highly cyclical environments).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
