Summary
CHS is seeking a motivated Energy Sales Representative to join our team in Sibley, IA, with a focus on selling energy products such as refined fuels, propane, and lubricants. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in both independent and team environments, demonstrates strong decision-making abilities, and communicates effectively—both verbally and in writing. This role offers excellent potential for growth and advancement within CHS.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to achieve sales targets and support retail growth initiatives.

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to deliver consultative services to businesses and individual clients.

  • Apply core sales techniques and develop knowledge of products, customers, the industry, and CHS infrastructure to enhance sales performance.

  • Act on new opportunities or refer them to experienced team members while learning from their process.

  • Maintain and expand a customer database including current and prospective clients.

  • Conduct regular outreach to promote CHS products, build relationships, and represent the local co-op.

  • Assist in preparing bids and proposals, ranging from basic to moderately complex.

  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of customer-facing presentations.

  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.

  • Deliver proactive, responsive customer service by identifying needs and offering tailored solutions.

  • Build product knowledge to support customer interactions effectively.

  • Uphold a strong safety culture by adhering to all safety policies, identifying hazards, and correcting or reporting unsafe conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Basic understanding of sales, business development, or sales operations


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
