FedEx Freight is seeking motivated individuals to join our Council Bluffs, Iowa team as Part-Time Package Handlers. Whether you’re starting your logistics career or looking for a flexible part-time role, this opportunity offers physical activity, great pay, and long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Transport freight across dock area to and from trailers
Operate manual and motorized equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, hand truck)
Verify freight against documentation (type, weight, hazardous materials)
Secure freight using tools such as straps, pallets, or rope
Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed
Assist customers with freight and paperwork
Complete required documentation and reports
Comply with safety regulations and company procedures
Perform hostling duties if required
Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Must be at least 18 years of age
Previous experience in freight handling or forklift operation preferred
Math skills (basic counting/calculations)
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. (with or without assistance)
Must bend, twist, push, pull, and squat frequently
Effective written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Dock/warehouse experience preferred

Working Conditions:

Work in a dock environment with exposure to weather, dust, noise, and fumes
Fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Hours may vary based on operational needs
Frequent interaction with service center staff
