Position Summary
The Department of Teacher Education in the Sanford College of Education at National University invites applications for part-time faculty in Literacy. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of, or potential for, teaching excellence and a commitment to serving NU’s diverse adult student population. This position works closely with the Academic Program Director and faculty peers to ensure program quality, student engagement, and academic success.
Essential Job Duties

Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessments.

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.

Complete required tasks by deadlines (e.g., final grades, grading rubrics, assessment input).

Maintain ongoing professional training and/or scholarly activities, where applicable.

Provide feedback to course leads regarding content and instructional materials.

Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student support services.
Qualifications
Required
-
Master’s degree in PK–12 Education or related field from a regionally accredited university.

Valid California single or multiple subject teaching credential.

Minimum of 3 years PK–12 classroom teaching experience in California.
Preferred
-
Expertise in PK–12 literacy, bilingual education, English Learners, and/or reading intervention.

Strong understanding of whole child learning, development, and/or social-emotional learning.

At least 2 years of higher education teaching experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly pay: $26.63 – $28.89 (commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills).
