We’re hiring a Patient Engagement Specialist to provide exceptional pharmacy support through inbound and outbound calls, ensuring patients receive timely medication refills and accurate assistance. As a Patient Engagement Specialist, you’ll act as a bridge between patients, pharmacy staff, and healthcare professionals—delivering knowledgeable, empathetic, and reliable service. This remote position is ideal for experienced pharmacy technicians passionate about patient care, customer service, and healthcare operations.


Key Responsibilities of a Patient Engagement Specialist

  • Coordinate patient medication refills, handle data entry, and manage pharmacy claim adjudication.

  • Make outbound refill calls and assist patients through the complete refill process.

  • Handle inbound calls, resolve patient inquiries, and route issues appropriately.

  • Work with pharmacists and clinicians to clarify prescription orders.

  • Manage sensitive medication types, including refrigerated or hazardous ones.

  • Maintain and update records in pharmacy databases efficiently.

  • Recommend and implement operational improvements for quality and productivity.

  • Protect confidential information and maintain compliance with HIPAA and company policies.

  • Participate in training, education, and team collaboration to improve patient care.


Required Qualifications for a Patient Engagement Specialist

  • State-registered Pharmacy Technician; national certification (CPhT or equivalent) preferred.

  • 1–3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician or in claim adjudication.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other pharmacy-related tools.

  • Ability to work remotely with stable internet and a distraction-free environment.
