About the Role
The Patient Relations Assistant plays a key role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and efficient experience for patients at the UK HealthCare General Dentistry Clinic. This full-time staff position ensures smooth clinic operations by handling patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and medical records while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients in person and by phone.

Manage patient registration, scheduling, and medical record preparation.

Verify insurance, process payments, and handle cash transactions.

Procure and maintain accurate patient records.

Support clinic initiatives to improve attendance and patient experience.

Communicate effectively with patients and staff in a professional, compassionate manner.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 3.5 years of related experience (customer service, healthcare, or administrative).

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Ability to stay calm and helpful during stressful or emotional situations.

Attention to detail to ensure patient record accuracy.

Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Experience

Previous background in customer service, healthcare, or clerical/administrative roles.
Position Details

Location: Lexington, KY

Schedule: Monday–Friday, primarily 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hrs/week); flexibility as needed

Salary Range: $16.20 – $24.82/hour (Grade Level 06)

Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, walking; occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).
