About the Role

The Patient Relations Assistant plays a key role in creating a welcoming, supportive, and efficient experience for patients at the UK HealthCare General Dentistry Clinic. This full-time staff position ensures smooth clinic operations by handling patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and medical records while providing excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in person and by phone.

  • Manage patient registration, scheduling, and medical record preparation.

  • Verify insurance, process payments, and handle cash transactions.

  • Procure and maintain accurate patient records.

  • Support clinic initiatives to improve attendance and patient experience.

  • Communicate effectively with patients and staff in a professional, compassionate manner.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 3.5 years of related experience (customer service, healthcare, or administrative).

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to stay calm and helpful during stressful or emotional situations.

  • Attention to detail to ensure patient record accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work collaboratively in a team environment.


Preferred Experience

  • Previous background in customer service, healthcare, or clerical/administrative roles.


Position Details

  • Location: Lexington, KY

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, primarily 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hrs/week); flexibility as needed

  • Salary Range: $16.20 – $24.82/hour (Grade Level 06)

  • Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, walking; occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs).

  • Supervisory Role: No
